We spent a day visiting Crater Lake. Much of the west side of the park was closed for forest fires and road construction.
We spent a day visiting Crater Lake. Much of the west side of the park was closed for forest fires and road construction.

We took a short hike at the end of Pinnacles Road to see the Pinnacles (duh!). |

The Pinnacles were formed by volcanic vents pushing their way through ash deposits. The steam hardened the ash into rock, and then the ash eroded away, leaving the vents. |
